The Vermont Cannabis Convention Returns to Essex Junction May 2–3, 2025.

The 6th Annual Vermont Cannabis Convention (VTCANN) is set to return to the Champlain Valley Expo on May 2–3, 2025, for two days of immersive cannabis education, networking, and innovation. Organized by one of Vermont’s most influential cannabis advocates, Eli Harrington, the event continues to be the premier platform for cannabis professionals, enthusiasts, and consumers alike.

“This year’s convention will focus on providing the most current and relevant information for both cannabis businesses and curious consumers,” said Harrington, President of the Vermont Cannabis Convention and founder of Vermontijuana. “We’re always putting the plant first, and happy to offer a dedicated programming track focused on cannabis cultivation, especially with the timing of the convention in early May while we’re at the height of planning our planting.”

Having co-managed the event since its inception in 2018 and fully acquired it in 2024 from NECANN (New England Cannabis Convention), Harrington is now leading VTCANN into its next phase as a fully locally-owned and operated convention. He is also the CEO of Greenbridge Consulting and one of the earliest cultivators to go legal in the state.

“Cannabis laws have changed so much in Vermont since we first started working with NECANN back in 2017 that every year feels like a milestone,” Harrington said. “It’s a testament to the hard work and determined faith of the people in Vermont’s cannabis industry and larger community that we’ve come so far in six years to see people really manifest their dreams and operate legal cannabis businesses.”

With more than 630 active cannabis licenses in Vermont—including nearly 420 cultivators—VTCANN has become a mirror of the state’s vibrant and competitive cannabis scene. The convention will host more than 75 exhibitors, along with 14 interactive panels covering everything from hash and concentrate production to cannabis tourism and marketing strategies.

Harrington, in a video interview posted on Instagram, said, “I’m excited about all the panels, but a few that stand out are a ‘Tourism and Cannabis Session’ with Higher Elevation, Onward Analytics presenting data they’ve gathered, and a mock dispensary that shows an example of off-site sales and consumption, and what that might look like.”

For newcomers and experts alike, this event is a unique opportunity to connect directly with growers, extractors, dispensaries, product manufacturers, and advocates, all under one roof. “The Vermont Cannabis Convention is a reflection of Vermont’s cannabis culture—high-quality, small-scale, and deeply community-focused,” Harrington added. “You can still get a ticket for $25 and have a face-to-face conversation with some of the most respected names in the industry.”
