A drug dealer who was found hiding in bushes following a police pursuit has been sentenced.
Officers from the Road Policing Unit were on patrol on the A141 between Chatteris and March when a BMW X3 passed them smelling of cannabis at 2.40am on January 19.
They followed the vehicle, which was driving at speeds in excess of 90mph, through Huntingdon, along the A14 and onto the A1198 where a stinger was deployed.
The vehicle came to a stop on a farm track off the A1198 and police dog Clifford tracked down Elijah Bussue hiding in some nearby bushes.
In the vehicle the team found the boot crammed full of cannabis plants with a street value of £150,000.
The 22-year-old, of Everest Way, Hemel Hempstead, claimed he was sat in the passenger seat and the cannabis didn’t belong to him.
At Cambridge Crown Court on Monday May 19, Bussue, was sentenced to 22 months in prison, suspended for two years after pleading guilty to possession with intent to supply cannabis.
He must also carry out 200 hours unpaid work.

Detective Constable Luca Bellomo, who investigated, said: “Thanks to the quick reactions from our road policing officers and police dog Clifford, Bussue was stopped and thousands of pounds worth of cannabis was seized and prevented from hitting the streets.
“Anyone who suspects drug dealing in their community is urged to contact police.”
