Man arrested after police seize ‘substantial amount of cannabis’


A man from Cwmbran has been arrested after police seized a ‘substantial amount of cannabis’ during a search warrant.

The warrant was carried out in Oakfield today (Monday, June 2) where cash, a mobile phone and drug paraphernalia including scales and bags were also found.

The 27-year-old was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply class B drugs and remains in custody.

PC Kyle Rodway, officer in the case, thanked the community following the warrant.

He said: “Officers have detained a Cwmbran man and seized a substantial amount of cannabis following a warrant in Oakfield this morning.

“Operations like today’s are often helped with information provided by the public.

“Tackling drug supply and protecting the public from illegal drugs and associated crime is a priority for us; this warrant demonstrates that information you provide around illegal drugs has the potential to make a huge impact on your community.
