Rolling paper is a specialty paper used for making cigarettes. It’s commercially manufactured filter cigarettes and individually made roll-your-own cigarettes. Rolling papers are packs of several cigarette-size sheets, often folded inside a cardboard wrapper. They are also known as ‘blanks” which are used to encase cannabis. It is typically folded into different dimensions, while the rolling paper may be flavored in varieties including fruity flavorings.
Rolling papers don’t just differ in their branding and packaging. The biggest difference is the material used to make them. These include papers made from wood pulp, rice, and hemp. Each of these materials has its own pros and cons and can affect things like your joint’s burn rate, taste, and how easy it is to roll.
