Tetra East Harlem will host its grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony on May 1, 2025, at 2152 Third Avenue, becoming the neighborhood’s first legal cannabis dispensary.
Licensed under New York State’s Conditional Adult-Use Retail Dispensary Program, the shop prioritizes opportunities for individuals impacted by cannabis prohibition.
Curated Cannabis for the Community
The dispensary offers a tailored selection of products, including flower, edibles, vape pens, hash oils, and specialty items.
Staff includes Spanish-speaking budtenders to serve East Harlem’s diverse population, with product categories designed for recreational, lifestyle, and wellness needs.
From Soft Launch to Grand Opening
New York City Comptroller Brad Lander made the shop’s first legal purchase during its April 2025 soft opening, selecting a “Red Headed Stranger” vape cartridge.
The May 1 2025, event will include a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 11 a.m., with doors opening immediately after.
Harold Baines: A Local Visionary
Owner Harold Baines—a filmmaker and co-founder of the Harlem Art Collective—plans to use the space to showcase local artists and musicians, exemplified by a DJ event featuring Harlem’s Stormin’ Norman on April 20, 2025.
“Creating jobs for my neighbors and offering safe, tested cannabis is a dream realized,” Baines said.
