Ages 5 & Up!
In the dark days before dispensaries started popping up like coffee shops, weed was cast as the stuff of villainy — especially in the world of toys. Back in the ’90s, companies barely D.A.R.E.d to reference the stuff as anything but evil, except for a few wink-and-nod releases that slipped through the anti-drug filter. But now? It’s all out in the open. From glow-in-the-dark collectibles to talking plush throwbacks, cannabis-themed toys are lighting up smokeshop shelves. Whether you’re a nostalgic stoner, a hardcore toy collector, or a twofer, here are six cannabis-inspired toys sparking both joy and bowls in 2025.
G.I. Joe’s Headman (1991)
Headman rolled onto the scene decked out in a villainous pinstripe suit, a pimp hat, and a suspicious green splatter on the box art that had San Diego toyheads whispering that this drug kingpin surely had the hookup. Measuring just 3¾ inches tall, this baddie from the G.I. Joe line is now low-key considered one of the first cannabis-coded figures. He’s rare in the wild, especially in the 619, but you might catch one listed on eBay for a not-so-stoner price.
