Up in Northern Ontario, Canada, growing seasons are short — and the weather doesn’t always cooperate. In this clip, @GrowingWithJames shares how he’s working with those conditions, not against them, by using a hands-on light deprivation method.
With just 3–4 months of usable growing time, he’s moving potted plants into a dark garage each night to simulate a 12-hour darkness cycle — forcing them to flower. The goal? Avoid harvesting everything at once and manage the season more efficiently. It’s a daily routine of lifting, timing, and attention that shows how far a little planning (and physical effort) can go when growing outdoors in a tough climate.
