An RDWC stands for recirculating deep water culture system which is basically a bunch of hydroponic DWC’s connected and maintained through a main resevoir of water. The benefit of a RDWC is that you no longer have to adjust the nutrient and pH levels for each individual bucket and now you can just access a single reservoir to make adjustments. The downside is that you may want to have different nutrient levels for each plant. In this video, we setup a RDWC from PA hydroponics and I talk you through every step needed to assemble and install this system. This is a 4 bucket soilless system that grow plants in hydroton suspended above the water using net pots. The water is aerated using an airpump which give plants oxygen rich water filled with nutrients that are added. This system is used in my hydro vs soil grow series which will be available in a couple of weeks.

Dutch bucket hydroponics is a great way to grow large and long-term plants. In this video, I’ll show you step-by-step how to build a dutch bucket system.
This system can be used both indoors and outdoors. If you plan to use the system outdoors, it works best in a greenhouse or in an area where rain can’t easily contaminate the system.
If you’d like to know how dutch bucket systems work, scroll down for a brief explanation.
NOTE: In the video, I refer to using 1/2″ rubber grommets. I should have said 3/4″ inner diameter rubber grommets commonly used for 1/2″ PVC pipe. The link below to the grommets are the correct size for this build. If you’re buying grommets from another source, you’ll want to use 3/4″ inner diameter rubber grommets.

❓ How Dutch Bucket Hydroponics Works ❓
A Dutch bucket system is a simple recirculating drip irrigation system. A reservoir holds nutrient solution. Inside that reservoir is a pump that’s connected to an irrigation line. When the pump cycles it pushes nutrient solution up into drip or irrigation tubing that flows into the buckets.
The Dutch buckets have a drain positioned about 2” above the bottom of the bucket. When the water level reaches the drain, it flows into a drain pipe and recirculates back into the reservoir. That 2” drain position in the bucket maintains a small reserve of water in every bucket at all times.
Coarse media like perlite works well with this standing reserve of water since it won’t wick up large amounts of moisture. This reserve of water in each bucket also acts as a nice failsafe to keep plants healthy in case of a pump failure.

What’s the good feeling you get after intense exercise? It’s not from endorphin release like we originally thought. Instead, it’s from endocannabinoid release, which is your body’s natural cannabinoids. Regular, vigorous exercise also increases neurogenesis and improves depression and anxiety. To get this effect, the CDC recommends 150 minutes a week of moderate intensity or 75 minutes a week of vigorous intensity.
